About Deal Sniper
Bowman prospect cards, priced against real sales.
Collectors have more listings than ever. Not more clarity.
Every night the prospect-card market prints thousands of new listings, and the tools around it each hold one piece of the answer. Price guides tell you what sold. Prospect lists tell you who's good. Marketplaces tell you what's listed. None of them will tell you whether the card in front of you — this player, this parallel, this serial, this price — is worth buying today.
Deal Sniper connects what happens on the field with what happens in the market, and shows its work.
The name, and what it is not
The name is about the hunt — finding a card priced below what copies of it actually sell for. It is not a description of a mechanism, and we would rather say so plainly than let you assume otherwise: this tool places no bids, makes no automated offers, and does nothing in the closing seconds of an auction. It reads the market and hands you the decision.
What sits behind every verdict is three checks, every time:
- The player. Level, age relative to level, production, trajectory — is the prospect actually what the listing implies he is?
- The card. Exact identity from checklist-grade rules: 1st Bowman status, parallel, serial run, certified auto or not. A seller's title never establishes what a card is here.
- The price. Asking prices are never comps. Fair value comes from confirmed sales of the exact card — matched on parallel, print run and grade — or it is labeled a model estimate, or it is not shown at all.
Only when all three line up does a listing rank as an opportunity — and when nothing clears the bar, the Radar says so instead of filling itself.
How it works
- 01
Player
Prospect trajectory: level, age for level, production, catalysts.
- 02
Card
Exact identity: product, parallel, print run, certified auto.
- 03
Market
Live listings against confirmed sales of the same exact card.
- 04
Opportunity
Where all three line up — with the evidence and the gaps shown.
What we believe
- A good player is not a good card.
- A good card is not a good price.
- Asking prices are not comps.
- Scarcity without importance is noise.
- Unknown is not zero — a number we can't verify is a number we don't print.
- No deal beats a bad deal.
- Conviction comes from evidence, or it doesn't come.
Independence
Some outbound marketplace links earn a commission. Rankings, scores and fair values are computed before any link exists and are never adjusted by what a click might pay — how we make money spells this out. The full scoring method is public on the methodology page, and our record — including the misses — lives on our calls.
